Welcome to dog2human! This Privacy Policy explains how we handle the information you provide when using our iOS application ("App"). Your privacy is important to us.
Information We Collect
The only personal information we collect from you is the photograph of your dog that you choose to upload within the App.
How We Use Your Information
The core functionality of the dog2human App involves transforming your dog's photo into an image of what they might look like as a human and generating a creative backstory. This process involves the following steps:
- Photo Upload: You upload a photo of your dog through the App interface.
- Image Analysis (OpenAI API): The uploaded photo is sent securely via API to OpenAI's services. OpenAI's AI analyzes the image to generate a textual description of your dog.
- Human Image Generation (OpenAI API): The textual description generated in the previous step is sent via API to OpenAI's services to create a new image depicting your dog as a human.
- Backstory Generation (OpenAI API): The newly generated human-like image is sent via API to OpenAI's services to create a fictional backstory based on the image.
- Display Results: The generated human image and backstory are displayed to you within the App.
We use the uploaded photo solely for the purpose of generating the human image and backstory as described above.
Data Storage and Retention
We do not store your uploaded dog photos on our servers after the generation process is complete. The photo exists only temporarily while being processed by the necessary API calls.
Intermediate data, such as the textual description of your dog and the generated human image, are used transiently during the API call sequence and are not permanently stored by the dog2human App.
Third-Party Services (OpenAI)
Our App relies on Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) provided by OpenAI to perform the image analysis, image generation, and text generation. When you use our App, the necessary data (your dog's photo, the derived description, the generated human image) is sent to OpenAI for processing.
OpenAI has its own privacy policies and terms of service governing the data they process. We encourage you to review OpenAI's policies to understand how they handle data submitted through their API. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of OpenAI.
Data Security
We implement reasonable technical measures to help protect the information transmitted through our App, including using secure methods for API communication. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
Children's Privacy
Our App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
